Mahatma Gandhi said “we often confuse spiritual knowledge with spiritual attainment. Spirituality is not a matter of knowing scriptures or engaging in philosophical discussions. It is a matter of heart culture, of immeasurable strength.”
Approximately one third of us report we are spiritual and religious. 24% of us call ourselves spiritual but not religious. Can you be one without the other? Is there a difference and does it even matter? Let’s try on a new look. Instead of labeling ourselves as one thing or another, let’s explore what it means to have a sense of spiritual peace and interest in the universe – beyond what we see with our own eyes. Whether or not we affiliate with a religion, understanding that we do not need to be stuck with a single word or description can be liberating. Letting go of the old images that don’t work for us can lead to freedom. Letting go may be one of the most spiritual endeavors to explore. You’re invited, for one hour, to come join the adventure. You choose what to keep and what to leave behind.
