Jesus. Steve Jobs. Buddha. Shania Twain. Mohammad. Each of these individuals hail from vastly different eras, backgrounds and faiths, yet they share an imperative common bond. Each has experienced homelessness. Each has known the stigma and shame of having no place to live. October 11 through 13 is World Homeless Weekend, a time when we are called to come together and “do one thing” in observance of the people impacted by this urgent humanitarian issue. Reverend Vicki will tell you real-life stories and intimate details of her street ministry sharing what she’s learned about the hearts and minds of people who have endured the indignity of homelessness.
Please join us for Rev. Vicki’s first sermon as our minister. The Reverend Vicki DellaSperanza is an ordained Interfaith, Interspiritual Minister and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. She is a Reiki Master, sound healer and spiritual counselor. For 25 years she was a successful fundraising and marketing executive for not-for-profit organizations that served those who were disenfranchised by society. The experience and insight of seeing up close and personal the many unmet needs in our society called Reverend Vicki to take a leap of faith during the second half of life. She left her lifelong career, enrolled in One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in New York City, studied to become a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and set out on a new path. Ordained in 2017, Reverend Vicki is fueled by being in service. She works in private practice as a Grief Recovery Specialist and Spiritual Counselor, is the co-founder of Let Your Light Shine Ministries which serves those who are incarcerated and their families, and serves as chairperson of the Huntsville Chapter of the Texas Inmate Families Association.
