At the close of GA 2015, the delegates voted overwhelmingly to adopt a BLM resolution. This phrase was developed by young black activists in the wake of Ferguson. What does it mean? How do we UUs put it into practice?
The Reverend Melanie Morel-Ensminger was ordained by First UU Church New Orleans in 1993, and has served UU congregations in Mississippi, Tennessee, New Zealand, New Jersey, and Louisiana. She has taught UU Worship and Credo Groups at Leadership Schools at The Mountain and DBLE; she serves as Ministerial Settlement Representative for the Southwest. She currently has a traveling consulting ministry with several small congregations in the Gulf South. She is married to Eric, a professional trumpet player in New Orleans. Melanie’s son got married this past April, and she looks forward to grandchildren.
