There are seven religions in the Bible, purportedly describing how God has dealt with humans in different ways at various times. Virtually all commentaries on the Bible recognize that the Tanach or the Old Testament is divided into covenants whereby God changed his contract with humans from time to time. Also, nearly all Christian scholars recognize that here are two religions in the Christian Bible also known as the New Testament, and these are the religion of Jesus and the religion of Paul. This talk recognizes the covenants for what they are, namely religions transmitted by the writers of the Bible to humans. These religions very roughly parallel the evolution of religion and this will be elucidated as well.
